]]> Questa sintetica grammatica della lingua araba moderna è stata concepita per gli studenti di Scienze politiche, Economia e per quanti vogliano avvicinarsi al linguaggio dell’arabo moderno e in particolare a quello dei media. È già in uso sperimentale da anni ed è il frutto di decenni di studio e di insegnamento basato sul testo della Grammatica di lingua araba della Veccia Vaglieri, di recente rivista da Maria Avino, e la grammatica per non arabi elaborata dal linguista egiziano Saʿid Badawi sotto la cui guida ho approfondito i miei studi di grammatica all’Università Americana al Cairo. Questo testo unisce, semplificando, l’impianto dell’arabistica italiana con la concezione didattica del Modern Standard Arabic di Badawi.

]]> What is happening in the Arab world, and why? What lies behind the fundamentalist threat, and to what extent does it represent the Islamic faith? From the revelation of the Quran to the Ottoman Empire, from colonialism to the Arab revolutions and terrorism, a guide to discoverIslam and its political institutions. The aim of this study is to provide some answers to the questions that many are asking as the level of violence increases in the countries of the Middle East and North Africa (Mena), and now this need is ever more pressing as violence knocks at our doors. This study retraces the history of Islam from the very beginnings, questioning the historical texts and examining the traditional institutions to understand what references remain valid today. It seeks answers to such burning questions as: how can this faith encourage the Nobel Peace Prize Malala Yousafzai to act for peace and at the same time inspire violent actions like those perpetrated by the followers of Bin Laden who made an attempt on her life? The purpose of the faith, says Daisaku Ikeda, is to make human beings happy: this book is thus an attempt to learn more about complex, closely interwoven realities and dispel misunderstandings, to help ourselves and others to build better mutual understanding and avoid facile radicalism
